THE RITE OF SPRING/ROMEO AND JULIET
By Concert Theatre
The Rite of Spring/ Romeo and Juliet is a radical interpretation of Stravinsky’s ballet and orchestral concert work in the theatrical setting of love and hatred between two Shakespeare’s rivalling households, Capulet and Montague.
Conceived by award-winning pianist An-Ting Chang and her experimental theatre company Concert Theatre, the production uses commedia half masks and piano four-hands to create a music-oriented physical theatre piece through the re-telling of Shakespeare’s romantic tragedy.
